The bottom line is people are not perfect but you go online and bash me for something beyond my control even though your children obviously enjoyed the service. And it's also puzzling why u wait til now when your party was last August.
We had the traveling zoo over our house this Saturday and it was great. Everything was as promised. The kids loved the animals. They fed them and played with with them. Most importantly pony rides were unlimited. Birthday girl would not get off the pony, she loved it. We took lots of pictures and videos. Over all amazing experience. Great entertainment for a kids party. Adults loved it as well. All the guests were impressed and satisfied. We paid cash and upfront (I don't see anything wrong with that with this type of service). We paid as they were setting up. We can tell the owner and staff really care about their animals. Everyone was friendly and nice. Booking again as soon as it gets warm for another kids party. Highly recommended.
BE WARNED!!!! DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY!!!! I booked my daughter's fifth year birthday party with this company and all was well. Even though I read the negative reviews, I decided to book this company anyway since I thought there may be some biases. The owner was kind when I booked the party but the day of, he was absolutely horrible!!! First of all, his crew was an entire hour late for my daughters party, an hour and fifteen minutes, to be exact! I frantically tried calling him but no one answered. He apparently listened to my voicemails and called me back, saying that his crew was stuck in traffic, but couldn't tell me the location where they were stuck. He then said that he would have his crew turn around and go back home if I wasn't kind to him....all this after he was an hour late!!!!! He truly put me in a bind and my daughter was looking forward to the animals. I decided to hold my tongue and be nice so he would come. He then told me that he would not refund any of my money, not even a portion of the cost, but that he would have his crew stay an hour longer, even though my party would be over!!!! Unbelievable!!!! The only reason I gave him a star at all is because his crew was great! When I asked them why they were late, one lady said their trailer broke!!!! The other lady who worked the party said they were stuck in a traffic jam!!! This company and it's crew have an obvious culture of dishonesty! One bit of advice....If you are going to lie, make sure it's consistent!!!!. At that point, I just let it go and watched my daughter and friends enjoy the animals, but I would highly recommend, NOT using this company if you don't want to be frustrated to high heavens and taken advantage of!!!!! I have never written a negative review for a company, but if I can save just one person from experiencing what my family and I experienced, then the threats I have received from Joe, is worth it.
We travel many miles to events and our goal is to be on time but sometimes things happen beyond our control. You called me a crook, I sent beautiful animals and a friendly staff with only a $100 deposit upfront. Quite frankly I do depend on employees on occasions and their lateness was not planned by me or them and not done purposely. Yes I offered to have them stay longer to make up the time which you must have agreed to because you paid your balance. I recall you being very upset and I advised you to calm down and let's try to make the best of things and not to be rude to the staff as you were to me.
Hello, I am writing this review in repsonse to Kelly Lewis. I am one of the workers who was assigned to Ms Lewis's party.On the way to the party we hit traffic, immediately we reached out to Ms Lewis to inform her and apologize for the inconvenience. Joe had let me know that Ms Lewis was a bit upset and to keep her updated with our progress. As we continued on our ride I repeatedly reached out to her to let her know where we were and our ETA. Although we usually leave early to account for such issues this was beyond our control. We offered to compensate for time missed and she can claimed her party would be over, however when we got there she seemed to be in an upbeat mood and said it's ok things happen, we agreed to extend the service to compensate for missed time, she paid the balance and all seemed to go well. The party went well and the kids and adults seemed pleased with our service. During our time there people were trickling in. As far as the broken trailer I have no idea where her basis for that came from as the trailer is/was in working condition. Calling Joe a crook is inappropriate we did not lead her on in any way we were upfront about the situation and accommodated her appropriately. services with were rendered as agreed upon. I have been an employee of mountainside stables for the last three years, never in my time with joe have I ever seen him rip anyone off. We do our best to accommodate our clients, sometimes being a mobile business we do run into traffic and we stress ourselves to provide the best experience we can.

I'm traumatized! Joe was all sweet over the phone when I made the booking. Sent the deposit on time, all seemed fine. Until..... The day of the event! We're waiting for him to arrive but he's nowhere to be seen. I give him a call and he was so rude, telling me he's 1 mile away in bumper to bumper traffic and then he hung up the phone. ( I checked Google maps and there was no traffic in the area.) finally 45 minutes later, he arrives. And out comes the most nasty, aggressive man I've ever met. Speaking so rudely, he started making demands that had nothing to do with the petting zoo. He altered the contract to less hours than we agreed, he demanded payment before the session began and said he wouldn't enter until I hand him the check. I didn't want to give it to him because I was scared he would drive off with the pets and all. He gave me no choice. I gave him the check and he continued barking how we can't use the tarp that we put down, and he's going to leave if there's too much noise..... The one star is for the animals, they were great! Kathy his helper was also quite good but a tad grumpy at times. We took him because he gave us a good deal, but never again.
I am shocked to see the defamatory review you posted. When I heard the girls were running late I immediately contacted you and as I recall you were very disrespectful to me.

Couldn't ask for a better experience. Mountainside Stables provides a unique experience for all to enjoy! The animals are cute, clean and friendly. The set up was wonderful. The kids really enjoyed being able to feed and brush the animals. Even the adults enjoyed themselves. The staff was warm and friendly. When they left there was barely a trace of them even being there! Highly recommend! Will be using them again in the future for sure.
I am a small businessman trying to support a family and If you think that review is accurate and I am a "crook" well then I am speechless. If I was a crook I would have asked for full payment then never showed. So I don't know what your definition of a crook is??? I have applied to google and may also file a slander suit.
